How free and fair will the Diaspora vote be
Kenyans living abroad are said to number over 3 million which translates to about 2.5 million eligible voters minus the voters who maybe underage. This is a population of voters which cannot be easily ignored now that the New Constitution requires the winning presidential candidate to garner at least 50% of the total votes cast.
A visit by the IIBEC Management to various areas in the diaspora concluded that Kenyans living abroad will vote for presidential candidate only, meaning the candidate has numbers depending with how he/she sells his/her ideologies and policies to this crucial vote rich population.
Being the first time ever in Kenyan politics, these votes are crucial to any presidential candidate and also for determining who our next leader is. Transparency and fairness will be needed to guarantee that come the voting day, honesty is upheld and that no rigging or any kind of manipulation of results is witnessed.
IIBEC need to communicate confidence to the public that the process shall have no malpractice. As a Commission they need to build a capacity that will handle the magnitude of 2012 politics.

this in deed needs to be clarified as i do foresee a manipulation of voters of mis representation of votes cast.
